Psychotherapy with me is a collaborative process tailored to meet your individual needs. People seek out individual therapy for a variety of reasons: you can find yourself stuck in old familiar patterns that are challenging to change, feelings of anxiety, depression, unhealthy relationships, trauma, unfulfilled dreams, or accomplishments are part of our lives, and most of the time painful. Together we will explore what has shaped you to become the person you are today, which will assist us in gaining a deeper understanding of the current relationship you have with yourself and others and help you find the powerful resources that lie inside you. Through self-exploration, self-transformation is possible.

 Similar to Individual Therapy, Family Therapy with me will be a collaborative process to meet the collective needs of the family.  I am trained in viewing all distress from a systems perspective. Through a systems perspective, clients will develop a deeper understanding of their unique family origin; boundaries; the function of anxiety; plus inter-personal related emotions, and much more. When a family member is struggling – the rest of the family often struggles, too. Family therapy, when appropriate and possible, can offer some of the best results. When a child is presenting anxiety, depression, behavior issues, or physical symptoms she/he is often communicating something about the family. Family Therapy is not about finding guilt or blame.  Family Therapy is about helping the family because family is the most important source of affection and safety for us all.  Through healthy family relationships, individuals will have more fulfilling and better lives.

The quality of our couples relationship plays a crucial role in the quality of our lives. One of the most rewarding relationships in life can also be one of the most challenging. Whether you are in a short or long term relationship, dating, married, or thinking of divorce, couples therapy can provide an opportunity to learn more about positive and negative patterns in the relationship and help couples develop a deeper understanding of the role of emotion and boundaries in order to strengthen or define their relationship. The balance between conjugality and individuality, effective communication, intimacy, infidelity, and power are topics that challenge every relationship. During couples therapy, I will help you build skills to communicate more effectively, cultivate intimacy, and repair the problematic patterns so that you can enjoy a more satisfying relationship.
